Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area: Just 16 miles from downtown Boise, Bogus Basin offers a plethora of snow activities. From skiing and snowboarding on the area’s 91 runs, to cross-country skiing on 37 km of Nordic trails, there’s something for everyone. For those looking for a little less adrenaline, there’s snowshoeing or the popular Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, a thrilling ride through the snowy forest.
Idaho City Area Yurts and Park N’ Ski Trails: About an hour’s drive from Boise, you’ll find a system of trails perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Idaho Parks and Recreation maintains several yurts along the trails that can be rented for an overnight adventure.
